I’m teaching four classes at The Writers Studio this fall:

New Workshop: From Situation to Story

I am also teaching this new workshop for memoir writers who want to gain greater insight into what their story is really about. Using Vivian Gornick’s distinction between situation and story as our guiding framework, we’ll explore how narrative emerges from the fact of our lived experience. No prior familiarity with Gornick’s work is required.

Join me on Saturday, October 3 for a three-hour diagnostic session exploring the distinction between situation and story. Participants will submit up to 1,000 words and receive focused feedback on the narrative center of their work.
